MANY THANKS to anyone who helped to make our Advent market such a success.  £591.19 was raised for Church Funds.

 

CHRISTMAS LUNCHES.  Barbara and Geoffrey Todd are having their Christmas lunches again on the following dates - Wed. 10th and Thurs 11th December.  If you would like to join us, please let us know or ring 777110 to book a place - limited seating!!    We ask £8.00 per person for Church Funds and the Methodist Ministers Housing Society.

 

DOOR ROTA.  The Door Rota list will be prepared for 2009.  Thanks to all who helped during 2008.  Will anyone willing to help in the coming year, or feel unable to continue, please advise Maurice White by December.  Tel: 772178.

 

SHALDON METHODIST CHURCH CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL. The story of Christmas told in decorated trees in December. Wed 10th 2 –8, Thur 11th 2 – 8, Fri 12th 2 – 8, Sat 13th 12 – 4, Sun 14th 12 – 4.  Music, tea, coffee, mince pies.  Proceeds for charity.  Sun 14th 10.30 Christmas Service with music and drama.

 

CHRISTMAS TREE.  The usual tree will be in the Church porch from 7th December for those wishing to place a card to their friends in the Church and make a donation to charity.  This year’s charity (agreed by the Church Council) is Wateraid. 

 

TOY AND GIFT SERVICE, 14th December.   We can bring toys and books in good condition which will be accepted by Ray Hodgson and passed on to needy children in the Exeter area. Also, gifts of food, household items and other suitable articles for the homeless people cared for at the Torbay Project (formerly the Factory Row hostel) in Torquay.

 

RAMBLERS GROUP.  The next walk is on Saturday 13th December.  Details later.

 

THE CIRCUIT IS NOW LOOKING TO REPLACE ALETHE AS CIRCUIT ASSISTANT.  If there is anyone in the congregation who would like to be considered, please let Dawn Renshaw know, and an Application Pack will be sent to them by the Circuit Officers.

 

THERE IS A REVISED CLEANING ROTA on the board in the Vestibule.  Please sign for the job you usually do or, if you are willing to volunteer please sign for the appropriate job.  We have no little brownies or fairies to clean the Church building, only YOU, so if you are willing and able, please sign up! 

 

DON'T FORGET your dried fruit from the Traidcraft stall for your Christmas cakes and puddings.  There is still time to order those Christmas gifts as well, please take a catalogue and browse.
